Puppet Slamwich at Black Cherry Puppet Theater celebrates puppetry for adult audiences in all of its forms, from traditional to experimental, as well as related genres, such as vaudeville, cabaret, toy and object theater. Puppet Sandwich hopes to introduce audiences to a broad array of puppetry, welcoming emerging and established artists from the Mid-Atlantic Region and beyond.

DETAILS: We invite both seasoned and novice puppeteers to perform short, adult-oriented, puppetry-related acts at an evening show advertised as a Puppet Slamwich. Acts can be as short as a minute, but cannot exceed 25 minutes. The performances range from traditional forms, such as hand puppets, shadow puppetry and marionettes, to more experimental/newer forms, including musical performances involving puppets or puppet-like objects, mask and body puppet/costume work, mixed genres like live performance, video and human actors interacting with puppets, and claymation.
